Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 August 2026
This site is a beta/pilot service tool for the Gloucester Tuesday Group of Cocaine Anonymous. It is not yet approved for wider public use. This policy explains, in plain English, what the public website does and does not do with your information.
Summary
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts are used.
- No non-essential tracking cookies are used.
- Limited browser storage (localStorage) is used for functional features only.
- Precise GPS location is never stored and never sent to a server by this site.
- The site links to third-party services (Google Fonts, postcodes.io, Google Maps, official CA pages, Web3Forms for feedback) which have their own privacy practices.
Analytics and tracking
The public site does not use Google Analytics, Plausible, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, PostHog, Google Tag Manager, or any other analytics or advertising scripts. No visitor profiling or behavioural tracking is performed by this site.
Cookies and browser storage
The public site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. Because there are no non-essential tracking cookies, a cookie banner is not currently shown.
The site does use a small amount of browser storage (localStorage) on your own device, for functional purposes only:
ca_meeting_finder_user_query_v2— the search text you typed on the meeting finder (a town or postcode), so the page can remember it.ca_meeting_finder_venue_coords_v1— a local cache of venue postcode coordinates (not your location), to make the meeting finder faster.ca-glos-rate— a simple local rate-limit counter for the feedback form.
You can clear this at any time through your browser settings.
Location and the meeting finder
Precise GPS location is not stored. If you use “Use my current location”, your browser provides your location temporarily so the page can sort nearby meetings. It is discarded when you refresh or leave the page. It is not saved to localStorage and not sent to any server by this site.
If you search by town or postcode, the typed search text may be saved locally on your own device so the page can remember it. The typed search text (postcode, outward postcode, town, or city) is sent to postcodes.io to look up an approximate location. postcodes.io never receives your precise browser GPS coordinates.
Meeting data is static and bundled with the site, and may become outdated. The meeting finder shows when the meeting data was last updated. Please check the official CA meeting page before travelling.
Third-party services on the public site
- Google Fonts is loaded automatically for site typography. Google may receive normal technical request information such as your IP address and browser details.
- postcodes.io is used for postcode, outward postcode, and place lookup. It receives the typed search text or bundled venue postcodes only — never your precise GPS coordinates.
- Google Maps links open in a new tab using the venue’s name and address. Google’s own privacy policy applies on their site.
- Official CA meeting links open the meeting’s entry on the Cocaine Anonymous UK website. Their own privacy policy applies.
- Web3Forms processes feedback form submissions (see below).
CA UK events feed
When manually refreshed by a homegroup trusted servant, this site fetches the public CA UK events feed server-side and caches event details so they can be shown on this site. We do not display organiser email addresses or phone numbers.
Where event poster images are available, this site may cache a copy of the public event poster image on our own storage so it can be displayed reliably. Each event still links back to the official CA event page.
Feedback form
Feedback can be submitted without giving your name. It should not be described as completely anonymous: the form provider (Web3Forms) may include technical metadata such as your IP address and browser details when the message is delivered. This is used for spam protection and is outside the control of this site.
Please do not include personal or sensitive information in feedback. Feedback is delivered to the homegroup by email via Web3Forms.
Search engine indexing
The public pages of this site are now open to search engines, so they may appear in search results. Internal and homegroup-only pages (including homegroup resources, project status, service history, and Step Sidekick) remain marked noindex, nofollow and are excluded in robots.txt.
Internal / gated pages
Some internal pages (for example homegroup-only resources) sit behind a simple local passcode check and may use different storage behaviour. They are not part of this public privacy summary.
Contact
For privacy questions, use the feedback form and choose “General Suggestion”. Please do not include personal or sensitive information.
